Stamats builds up the community in so many ways, as a corporate entity, as an employer, and as a group of people who care about our planet and neighbors.

  • A 5k to raise money for mammograms with Especially for You.
  • A holiday gift drive for Waypoint, a local agency that provides services to families dealing with domestic violence or homelessness.
  • Adopt-a-highway—cleaning up a stretch of Third Street in the New Bohemia District.
  • Scholarships available for college-bound children of employees.
  • Bowl-for-Kids-Sake—an annual bowling event to support local Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
  • Employee reimbursement for trees to replenish the canopy lost in the 2020 Derecho.

A Blue-Zones-designated workplace since 2014, Stamats encourages the healthy activities that help us enjoy longer and happier lives. Our Wellness Committee keeps health and happiness center stage for all of us through fun events and challenges year-round.

Company events range from summer barbecues to monthly Shout-Outs. Some are created by our Great Place to Work or Wellness committees. Others are ad hoc or organized by administration. Some promote wellness, community, or learning, and others are just for fun.

  • Among Ourselves—getting to know each other as individuals throughout the year and culminating in a year-end publication highlighting employees’ length of service.
  • Monthly Shout-Outs—an employee nominated program to highlight co-workers who’ve gone beyond their job description to bring joy, assistance or a job well done.
  • We like cooking events. Each year we enjoy a chili cookoff, Eat Your Greens potluck, tailgate party, summer barbecue, holiday cookie exchange, and holiday spread to wrap up the year.
  • To encourage consistent growth, we have a reading group for employees come together to share what they are reading.

Our Cedar Rapids headquarters originally housed printing presses and has been reshaped into a modern workspace. Meeting room names wink at the 2008 flood—The Think Tank, The Pond—and the halls are lined with the paintings, prints, and masks that the Stamats family has been collecting for almost a century. LEED Silver certified, it’s an inspiring, comfortable home.

We also have an office in Minneapolis and several home offices—from California up to Washington, Maryland down to Florida, and a few stalwarts in the Chicago area—each inspiring in its own way.

Our offices are pet friendly and employees are allowed to bring in their dogs.

We work hard but have balance as well. We operate in a Results Focused Environment, giving employees the opportunity to work from where they choose.
