Tyler has shepherded the content of Meetings Today through channels such as MeetingsToday.com, videos, podcasts, enewsletters, webinars and Meetings Today magazine and its various supplements for nearly 20 years. A leading voice in the meetings and events world, Tyler writes and edits destination sections, features and topical news stories, as well as curates content submitted to Meetings Today from some of the top thought leaders in the industry.
He has covered the travel trade for more than 30 years, having previously worked as the Asia, Canada, Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. editor at Travel Weekly magazine and TravelAge West, as well as written freelance travel pieces in the interim before joining Meetings Today in 2000.
Before joining the dual editorial staff producing destination sections for Travel Weekly and TravelAge West, Tyler was the Africa, Israel, Middle East, Switzerland and Pacific Northwest editor at TravelAge West. He also undertook general news and feature assignments while working at the magazines.
Besides reporting on the travel trade, Tyler has covered the real estate industry, held various editorial positions at the San Francisco-based national satire magazine The Nose, wrote freelance technology industry pieces and covered the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders for a bilingual newspaper in San Francisco. He has a B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University, where he worked in various editorial capacities on its award-winning student magazine, Prism.
When not busy attending meetings industry events and working at Meetings Today, Tyler enjoys attending musical performances and even performing every now and again in his blues-based band A Delaware Corporation, aka DelCo, in which he sings and plays guitar and bass guitar. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, Patti, and two dogs, Ruby and Willie.
