Transfer Student Enrollment
A two-year college near Pittsburgh, Westmoreland is home to the top culinary training program in Pennsylvania. In spite of the school’s modern and high-tech facilities, its identity and website were dated and out of sync with its three primary audiences:
- Trades and technology students
- General education and transfer students
- Local business employees who are developing new skills
After launching a revitalized college identity, Westmoreland leadership focused on its digital presence. Driven by a new CMS, intuitive architecture, and brand-aligned content, the new website needed to represent the very best of Westmoreland—its world-class resources, engaged faculty, and immersive educational style.
Stamats’ site redesign process was framed by following priorities:
- Design navigation and content strategy around users’ priorities, questions, and curiosity
- Create a visual and interactive experience that’s contemporary and positive—showcasing Westmoreland’s facilities, faculty, and students
- Ensure content planning, taxonomies, and HTML development take full advantage of OmniUpdate, the college’s new CMS
Throughout the redesign, we also helped Westmoreland prepare for the logistical demands of its new site. These included:
- Outlining content governance and content creation guidelines
- Building a more robust library of site assets
- Establishing a Google Analytics reporting framework for ongoing site monitoring and working closely with Westmoreland’s team to ensure all data was collected, understood, and shared
Westmoreland’s web team is now able to monitor analytics and make quick updates to content. One year after launch, key site and enrollment metrics show dramatic increases.
